ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 provisioning error

Hi,

I'm fairly new to the OOB functionality in ConfigMgr, but I've followed these documents/blogs:

Create PKI certificates: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd252737.aspx

Setup OOB in ConfigMgr 2007 SP2: http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-1754

All our clients are running Windows 7 SP1 x64.

I'm currently testing with a single box, a Dell Optiplex 745 BIOS A11 AMT version 3.2.1. The CA thumbprint has been enter manually in the MEBx. The default password has also be changed and the same is configured in the MEBx field in OOB component setup.

When I look in the amtopmgr.log I see the following:

"The out of band service point failed to provision LAB01-WS.domain.local with error 0x       0: Can NOT establish connection with target device..

Possible cause: This error can be caused by network configuration errors or because AMT has the wrong IP address for wired network access .

Solution: Ensure that the DHCP scope for AMT is configured correctly with the options 006 (DNS Servers) and 015 (DNS Domain Name). Also check in AMT that the correct IP address is configured for wired network access."

Have I forgotten anything? Why is it not able to connect to the AMT?

Any help is appreciated.

DG45FC MB Memory question

DG45FC says it has a 4GB limit for memory.  Why?  Is this just because Vista 32 bit limit is 4GB?  In the BIOS notes there is some mention of one of the Bioss fixing an issue with using 8 GB of ram.  OR- is there some hardware limit on the board itself that limits to 4 GB, regardless what the BIOS notes say?

Also- why not 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) memory?  I believe the board says only up to 800 memory.

I appreciate anyone's help.  Thanks!

vPro management and FDE solutions

I would like to know if you can use vPro in environments with FDE.

I found a whitepaper on Microsofts bitlocker support but was more interested in GardianEdge and Checkpoints Pointsec...

Looks like the combination of Activedirectory and SOL work for bitlocker

Are there solutions for these other FDE solutions ?

Are there limitations to what vPro features work in these environments ?

thanks

Hello Intel Community,

I am currently experiencing issues with Intel AMT and Meshcommander. I am having issues with installing the CentOS ISO via Intel AMT & Meshcommander. Also, while using MeshCommander I tend to lose connection to my AMT device whenever I reset or reboot my system. This in turn makes it difficult for me to install ISOs by resetting to the IDE-R CD . Could you please help me whenever you guys get the opportunity. Thank you for your time.

Expired TLS certificate.

Hi All,

The TLS certificate that I was using in my configuration expired. It was then renewed but not when connecting to clients it shows as invalid but still connects. When you download the certificate it has the new expiry dated. I have tried un-configuring and re-configuring the client but it made no difference. I tried creating a new profile and configuring with that. I also tried running a maintenance task on one of the clients. any suggestions on what to do next?  create a new certificate and reconfigure all machines?

Cheers,

Ross

AMT Configuration failing

Hello,

I am fairly new to managing our company's Intel AMT application and I'm working on a problem that's come up recently.

We're migrating towards Windows 10 in our environment and recently built a remote call center that's running entirely on Win10 minus one system that runs an application that can only run on Win7. The win7 system is successfully configured with our RCS profile, but none of the Win10 systems will configure. They're using the same profile and creating the AD object to the same OU. We do have some Win10 systems in other locations that have been configured successfully, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the OS.

We're getting the following error for the Intel SCS Console with running the configuration:

Failed while calling

WS-Management call

GetAmtVersion (CIM_SoftwareIdentity.Get). Intel(R) AMT connection error

0xc000521f: An SSL error occurred. Verify the username and password, and the PSK or certificate settings, where applicable.

Valid certificate for PKI configuration not found.

We're using the Remote_Configure.bat (version 2.1) provided by Intel that runs the following command for configuration:

.\acuconfig /output console /output file Remote_Configure.log /verbose ConfigViaRCSOnly "%~1" "%~2" /RCSBusyRetryCount 3

ERROR:

Thread:14184(ERROR) : ACU Configurator, Category: Exit Source: Src\ActivatorMain.cpp : configurator::LogAndExit Line: 226: ***********Exit with code 75. Details: Failed to complete remote configuration of this Intel(R) AMT device. Failed while calling  WS-Management call  GetAmtVersion (CIM_SoftwareIdentity.Get). Intel(R) AMT connection error  0xc000521f: An SSL error occurred. Verify the username and password, and the PSK or certificate settings, where applicable. Valid certificate for PKI configuration not found.

And then runs the following for system discovery:

.\acuconfig /output console /output file Remote_Configure.log /KeepLogFile /verbose systemdiscovery /ReportToRCS /RCSAddress "%~1" /RCSBusyRetryCount 3

WARN:

Thread:11544(WARN) : ACU Configurator, Category: Exit Source: Src\ActivatorMain.cpp : configurator::LogAndExit Line: 226: ***********Exit with code 32. Details: Intel(R) AMT operation completed with warnings: System Discovery failed to get data from some of the interfaces on this system. Failed to get data from the GetDNSLookupName interface.  Failed to get the FQDN.  Call to function failed.  DNS operation refuse

The Win7 system is running MEI 7.1.50.1172 and the Win10s are running MEI 11.6.0.1047. I noticed they both use the LMS.exe but only the version 7.x runs UNS.exe as well.

Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

vPro Remote Desktop stopped working with new Win10 install

$

Hi,

I am working on a Lenovo M93p 10A9-000SUS SFF desktop with an i5-4570 processor. The Intel Management Engine is version 9.1.42.

This machine was running Windows 7 with the Intel Management Engine Components 10.18.14.4264 installed. I'm pretty sure that I was able to use MeshCommander to start a Remote Desktop session (though I hadn't done it in a while).

I have now done a fresh install of Windows 10 x64 Enterprise on an empty hard disk. MeshCommander 0.6.3 connects to the machine with no problem, and I can power cycle the machine remotely. I can open the Remote Desktop window, but when I click Connect, nothing happens.

I thought maybe I needed to install Intel Management Engine Components so RemoteDesktop could interact with the OS. However on the Lenovo site, I have not been able to find an installer for Intel Management Engine Components for Windows 10 for this machine. None is offered through Lenovo System Update.

Are there components that I need to install under Windows 10 in order to get Remote Desktop working? If so, what are the components and where do I find them?

Thanks,

Mark

Hello,

I am in middle of testing Intel SCS functionality in SCCM 1702 CB. When ever i try to connect to a device using Intel Manageability command , it gives me this error.

Following are installed on the computer which i am trying to connect to:

My question is that since Remote configuration failed, do I have to have it installed in order to remotely connect to a computer using Intel manageability commander?

Secondly, I tried to google about that error, but no luck, can anyone drag me in right direction that what might be this error about?

Thirdly, I checked the logs for the remote Configuration Failure, i found the following:

Below attached are the screenshots from the log file regarding the failure of Remote Configuration.

Thank you very much,

HP ProDesk 600G3 With AMT Provisioned No UEFI PXE Boot possible with Bios>2.06

$

Hello,

We have a problem with the HP ProDesk 600G3.

With the default Bios version  (version 2.06) and AMT Provisioned Everything works fine.

00.02.06 Rev.A18.3 MBJul 3, 2017

Due to Meltdown and Spectre we are updating our machines. And After the bios updates it seems that we can't use UEFi PXE boot anymore.

We have tried every bios version higher then 00.02.06 Rev. until version 2.16a released on Apr 11, 2018.

The situation stays the same.

We use one AMT Profile for all our desktop computers and only the HP ProDesk 600G3 has this problem.

Other systems: Dell Optiplex 7010 (SFF), Dell Optiplex 9020 (SFF) and Dell Optiplex 7040 (SFF) are working fine.

HP business support can't find the reason.

The only way at this moment to make UEFi PXE boot working again is to unprovisioning the AMT profile.

This keeps working until the AMT profile is automatically pushed to the system agian.

Is this a known error?

Can someone explain why this is happening and how to solve this problem?

PXE winpe cannot operate with the disk while remote pxe command by AMT: RemoteControl.exe. PXE Linux works fine.

Hello dear experts,

We have automated the Operate System deployment of an Intel devices: DELL 7040/7050 computers. We use Linux PXE deployment and we have 2 OS being deployed: Linux Ubuntu and Win10 RS3 (WinPE developed).

We use AMT utilities to perform the remote commands, NetworkAdmin.exe and RemoteControl.exe, taken from SDK source: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/download-the-latest-intel-amt-software-development-kit-sdk

and it works fine through "mono" tool in linux:

"/usr/bin/mono /data/tools/automation/win/amt/bin/RemoteControl.exe  -setbootsource pxe -host ${IP} -user admin -pass ${PS}"

"/usr/bin/mono /data/tools/automation/win/amt/bin/RemoteControl.exe  -changepower busreset -host ${IP} -user admin -pass ${PS}"

Problem Summary:

When we boot the system to deploy Win10 OS by the approach, above. System boots PXE, start downloading and raise up the winpe image. But Windows installation fails in the Disk stage, warns: "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information". Due to the logs the disk was found and the partition has been created. I see it also by: "DISKPART> select Disk 0  -> list partition".

While, when I boot PXE manually (by F12) using AMT console and selecting PXE in boot sequence, system boots and installs fine and no any warnings.

This problem also does not meet in Linux OS automation or manual deployment by a same approach. Works excellent and no any trouble.

I have a single AMT 4.0 machine I am trying to provision in enterprise mode PSK using open MDTK version 0.1.34 I found at this url http://www.meshcommander.com/open-manageability. It appears to be getting stuck while trying to apply the provisioning changes because it hasn't seeded/set the random number generator.

The machine I'm trying to provision is running debian stretch and I tried to provision it using a separate computer with a windows 10 vm.

Attached is the error log I receive.

UCC Provisioning Cert - Vendor

$

Hi,

Can anyone advise or have experience with a cert vendor that will issue a provisioning certificate for multiple domains which also has the required OID/Key Usage data required as per page 6 of the white-paper

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/technologies/intel-active-management-technology-intel-amt/RCFG…

Many will issue a single domain cert but not a UCC and we need to provision clients in multiple domains from a single server.

seems to be a major show-stopper if no CA's will actually issue the required certificate.
