Intel AMT Diagnostics Tool documentation

Where can I find documentation for the AMT Diagnostics Tool? It comes with a help file but that seems geared towards writing diagnostic code rather than using the GUI program.

In particular, there's a set of tests and I don't know what's supposed to go in the "active directory" section - the on screen help says it needs an OU for the machine object and a CN but when I enter values which I'm sure are correct (I can see them in AD Users and Computers) it fails the test. It would be good to have an example of the format which is expected.

Also, what should I give for the server certificate - if I point it at the text file I downloaded from Entrust the test is passed but when I try to provision machines I'm getting warnings about certificate errors.

Moving SCS to a new server

I am trying to migrate our SCS install to a new server, but I am having difficulty with the profiles. When I run the SCS Console on the new server I dont see any profiles. I checked the database and they are there, but the profile_xml column data appears to be encrypted. I found this relevant line in the RSCLog.log file:

2014-06-18 15:31:30: Thread:2404(ERROR) : RCS Server , Category: ProfileStorage Source: Src\ProfileStorageInternal.cpp : ProfileRepositoryNamespace::ProfileStorageInternal::LoadProfiles Line: 352: File decryption failed.

I am running version 8.2 of SCS in database mode with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2012 R2.

I backed up the database on the old server and restored it on the new server. Then I installed SCS 8.2 on the new server. I also tried installing SCS before importing the database, but got the same results. The service is running as the same domain user on both servers.

Is there an official method for migrating the SCS service to a different server?

Unable to Upgrade DH77EB Motherboard to 32GB

Hi ,

I have Intel DH77EB Motherboard bought year ago and was using with 24 GB (i.e. 8GB*3) RAM and running VMWARE EXSI 5.X directly on it.

Thought to add another 8GB RAM with same speed and type on Channel 1 Slot 1, but system fails to boot up don't even see Intel BIOS page, sometime I see only non-blinking cursor.

My RAM Specification and channel used.

RAM= Transcend 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz

Channel 0 Slot 0= 8GB

Channel 0 Slot 1=8GB

Channel 1 Slot 0=8GB

Testing Done:

1] Added new 8GB DDR3 RAM on Channel 1 Slot 1 : Failed to Boot up

2] Replaced old 8GB RAM from Channel 1 Slot 0 and added the new one: Saw message on Screen saying "Chasis Message"memory Degraded continue to Procced, when pressed Enter key boots up without any issue. Checked the Status of it on BIOS setting, Specifications looks as other two .

3] Now add two 8GB RAM on Channel 1 Slot 0 and Slot 1 and removed one 8 GB RAM from Channel 0 Slot 1: Again it failed to boot up.

So with above testing I observed that Channel 1 is not able to take complete 16GB load on it.

Any suggestions to fix it.!!!

Intel SCS ver 9.1 - which SQL editions are supported?

Hi,

I'm planning on installing Intel SCS ver 9.1, along with the RCS.

I understand that an SQL database is required to install SCS in database mode.

But I cannot seem to find any information as to which versions of SQL are supported?

So when installing Intel SCS 9.1 is SQL Express 2014 supported or do I need a different version?

Many Thanks

SCS Add-on for MS SCCM 2012 - user account settings

Hello, I am attempting to install the SCS add-on for SCCM 2012 and see a configuration setting in the setup that I do not understand. My question is related to the dialog box that asks for "User Account Settings". According the documentation it says this is for specifying a different user account for running the SCS packages through SCCM other than "the SCCM client". What does this mean?

The SCCM client by default runs packages under the local SYSTEM account when I runs a package on a client. Can I just leave this "User Account Settings" dialog box blank and not specify a "different user account"? It kind of implies this is an optional setting. If I do leave it blank and just use the default, are there any configuration settings I need to do to account for this? There is a chart in the documentation that specifies the permissions that are needed for the account that runs the packages, such as permissions to the ADOU and Intel_RCS/Intel_RCS_Editor namespaces. How do I (or do I need to) setup these permissions when the packages runs on a client as the local SYSTEM account.

SCCM2012 Add-on (RegKeyToMOF_32)

Hi. I'm trying to integrate Intel AMT with SCCM2012 and am running into some issues. After I import the sms_def_AMT.mof and sms_def_SCSDiscovery.mof, I can see that the hardware classes are added. However, when I click on the hardware classes, all the Intel_AMT ones only show RegKeyToMOF_32. Hence, SCCM is unable to detect any Intel AMT capable computers. Anyone run into this before?

Intel AMT & SCCM 2012 Discover AMT Status

Hi,

I have an environment with about 1600 vPro capable devices. The provisioning with SCS 9.1 is working correctly.

I'm adding the vPro information into SCCM based on the blog of Blair Muller. There was no Add-On ready at the moment when I started with SCCM 2012 RTM.(Blair Muller Guest Blog: Integrating SCCM 2012 with SCS 8.1)

85% of the devices are working fine and are indicated as externally provisioned. But for the rest of the devices I can not receive the AMT status in SCCM. This goes from AMT version 5.2.10 towards 9.1

The discovery account is setup correctly

When the device has been provisioned we can see that the discovery account exists

But for an unknown reason to me it's given a security error when I try to discover the AMT status through SCCM.

Does somebody has an another idea concerning this error?

Can't be logged on Intel AMT 9 for Web interface

Intel ME BIOS 9.0.20.1447 | Intel AMT 9.0.0.0025

Log on to Intel ME BIOS is ok. The default password is "admin" and change the password is "Password0!"

Open the Intel Management and Security Status to confirm items of Intel ME is "Configured" and Control is "Admin"on the Operating System.

PING is ok to PC with power off status.

Open the IE and enter "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:16992" and Intel AMT log on page is appeared.

Enter user ID is admin, password is Password0!

Error message is "Log on failed. incorrect user name or password, or user account temporarily locked."

It can't be access to Intel AMT 9 using Intel Manageability Commander tools as well.

I have a AMT 8 and a AMT 7 PC on the same subnet is fine.

It's not my first time to configure Intel AMT , so I don't know what is wrong of Intel AMT 9.

I'm wondering that user ID of AMT 9 is "admin" as same as previous version of AMT.

AMT version 7 and SCCM 2012 R2 integration

Hi everyone,

I'm in a project to implement the Out of band Management in SCCM 2012 R2. The client PC's are some kind of HP boxes with Intel AMT version 7.1.

I followed this guide: Integrating Configuration Manager 2012 R2 with Intel SCS 9.0 – Part 1 : Introduction | SCCM GURU

The configuration and installation fine but I have problem with the Discovery's.

On this page: http://sccmguru.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/integrating-configuration-manager-2012-r2-with-intel-scs-9-0-part-7-deploying-intel-amt/

there is the 4th steps:

"If you now refresh your AMT Collections you will see that the Intel AMT Systems: Not Configured now includes the machines where the Intel AMT Discovery Task Sequence where run."

The TS on my test PC run succesfully but the PC not shows up in the Not Configured collection.

I noticed that the membership rule of this Not Configured collection says: if AMT is supported and the isAMTConfigured parameter is 0 then the client will be member of this collection. My main problem is this isAMTConfigured parameter I think.

If I browse the SCCM Server WMI store I see that this parameter is empty in the test client's hardware inventory data, so HW inventory does not / could not collect this parameter.

If I check the mof file (what I imported) it says the this isAMTConfigured comes from the \root\cimv2\SMS namespace Intel_AMT_ManageabilityInfo_ManagementSettings class. If I browse the WMI store on the client I can't find this class in the \root\cimv2\SMS namespace.

But if I browse the \root\cimv2 namespace (without \SMS in the end) I can see this class and isAMTConfigured parameter appear in the list with the correct value.

I downloaded 1-2 older mof file but it also says that the correct namespace is \root\cimv2\SMS.

Has anybody experienced the same issue? Or anybody integrated succesfully SCCM 2012 R2 with AMT 7?

Please if you have any idea or solution don't hasitate to write down.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Zsolti.

"Unauthorized" Error using Powershell to connect to AMT provisioned PCs

I am trying to create a Powershell script that will allow me to turn on multiple PCs simultaneously using Intel AMT/Vpro. I think I am close to get a script that will work, but when I run it I am getting this error:

Image may be NSFW.

cannot connect.PNG
.

I'm assuming that this has something to do with my AMT credentials being incorrect. I've been trying to follow the instructions attached (Intel vPro Technology module for windows PowerShell...) but I'm still stuck. I am able to connect to these PCs using the vpro platform solution manager and the manageability commander tool with no issues. If anyone has experience with this type of thing I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks
